Oftentimes, the problems of the broken hearted appear insurmountable. oftentimes, it feels like its useless to work on things. But, this group of ladies has an indefatigable spirit that keeps giving, giving, and giving. At this meeting, I had pitched a protocol for choosing the right girls to be beneficiaries of the centre. With a variety of disciplines and a heart brimming with love, a battery of tests were decided upon and a new batch of 10 girls were chosen for 2019. God bless these holy souls
this little guy is Coco. my cohort. He works with me everyday, handling the most difficult cases with gentleness and compassion. He intuitively knows when to approach gently, when to be rambunctious , when to lay down and listen. He asks for nose rubs and cuddles when he senses that they need a little more gentleness. Animals have so much sensitivity and innate kindness that they are very helpful in the healing process.
Just a few months back, i guested on an online show for millennial executives. The discussion was on management of stress in the workplace. Because of the unusual work hours , constantly changing work situations, high cost of living, the young executives find it challenging to keep up with work demands. Because they fear humiliation, they keep the stress to themselves try to forget the pressures by drinking, partying, expensive lifestyles that they cannot afford.
This does not have to be. there are many positive ways to manage stress —managing emotions, thoughts, and feeling is an effective way. Through a framework meant to challenge thoughts, a more realistic view of the situation and a more proactive action plan can be developed.
the way of business has changed since I began working in 1989. The young executives set up businesses on their own and become the decision-makers for multimillion businesses overnight.
And, I am lucky to get the opportunity to work with them! As they put their services online, they continually pivot and work towards improvement making their products and offerings more competitive worldwide. Because online businesses have a high mortality rate and because competition is cut-throat, these young professionals need support to remain at the top of their game. And, that is what I provide: tools and tips to keep them confident and resilient for the long haul.
In another life, I was a product assistant launching chicken nuggets when the McDonalds happy meals were just a new thing. today, I do work as an executive coach working on organisational development. And, in this life too, my old friend who was then a group manager is now the President and CEO of San Miguel Corporation.
Great Catching up with you, Butch Alejo
Just a few days back, I successfully passed the Philippines’ Psychologist’s Licensure exam which took place on October 28 and 29 2019 at the Sampaloc area. It was a great exam. Thank you to all the mentors and review mates who made the journey memorable.
